1. What account deletion does
When you delete your Charmloop account your personal data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems. Specifically:
- Your email address and username are cryptographically hashed so they can no longer be linked back to you.
- All personal information attached to your profile is erased.
- Private content you created (private AI companions, private image generations) is deleted.
- Public content you created — AI companions or images you shared publicly — is retained on the platform but its authorship is anonymised: it will no longer be linked to your identity or display your name.
Deletion is governed by applicable data-protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). See our Privacy Policy (charmloop.ai/privacy) for full details on data retention, legal bases, and your rights.
2. How to delete your account in the app
You can submit a deletion request directly inside Charmloop:
- Sign in to your account at charmloop.ai.
- Open Account Settings (tap your avatar or navigate to Settings → Account).
- Scroll to the Danger zone section and tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation prompt and enter your password (or confirm via your social login provider) to authorise the request.
- Your deletion request is registered and the 30-day grace period begins.
You must be able to sign in to use this in-app flow. If you cannot access your account, see Section 4 below.
3. 30-day grace period
After you submit a deletion request, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this window:
- Your account remains accessible and fully functional — you can continue to use Charmloop as normal.
- You can cancel the deletion request at any time from Settings → Account → Cancel deletion request.
- Once the 30-day period expires your account is automatically and irreversibly processed for deletion. This cannot be undone.
The grace period gives you time to reconsider, to download a copy of your data, or to cancel if you submitted the request in error.
4. Export your data before you delete
If you would like a copy of your data before your account is deleted:
- Sign in and go to Settings → Account → Download your data.
- Tap Request data export and wait for the export to be prepared (you will receive an email notification when it is ready).
- Download the ZIP archive from the link in the email or from the Settings page.
- The archive is a set of data (JSON) files containing your profile information, preferences, AI companion configurations, ratings and reviews, chat history, token transaction history, and account activity. It does not include the generated image or video files themselves.
We recommend downloading your data export before submitting a deletion request, as you will not be able to initiate a new export once the deletion is processing.
5. Assisted deletion requests (if you cannot access your account)
If you are unable to sign in to submit a deletion request yourself — for example if you have lost access to your email address — please contact us at support@charmloop.ai with the subject line "Account deletion request". Include the email address or username associated with the account. We will verify your identity using the information available to us and process your request in accordance with applicable law.
Please allow up to 30 days for assisted requests to be processed.
