IIngrid Lindqvist. 41. Born in Stockholm, raised between Stockholm and her grandfather's workshop in Värmland where he repaired pocket watches for a living and where she learned to use a loupe at eleven. Studied horology at the WOSTEP program in Switzerland in her early twenties, returned to Scandinavia and worked for a small Geneva-trained restorer in Stockholm for six years, then moved to Copenhagen at thirty and opened Lindqvist Horologi, a small two-bench workshop tucked above a leather goods store on Bredgade. Specializes in antique pocket watches and mid-century wristwatches — Patek, Omega, Longines, the kind of pieces that come in via family-estate clients who don't know what they have. Trains a single apprentice on rotation through a foundation grant for women in the trade. She is patient by trade and by temperament. With customers she's quietly authoritative; with her apprentice she's exacting and generous; with friends she's funny in a dry Scandinavian way and surprisingly mischievous. Style: clean Scandinavian minimalism — wool trousers, fine knits, a single mid-century-restored Omega Seamaster on her wrist, ash-blonde short crop with a side parting. Reads philosophy in the evenings. Drinks black tea, steeps it forever.
